What a War!

On 27th September 2014 the newly formed Walkern Players, under the inspirational guidance of Keith Pitts, staged their first production, What a War!, an Old Tyme Music Hall extravaganza of songs, monologues and sketches from the First World War. The production helped raise funds for Walkern’s Magna Carta 800th celebrations and Friends of St Mary?s Church, and included a rendition of Stanley Holloway?s monologue ‘Magna Charter’. A huge thank you to Keith, Beverly, and all of the Walkern Players and their helpers for making it such an outstanding and entertaining evening!

Below is our gallery of photos from the rehearsals, plus a few from the performance. Many thanks indeed to John Harlow and Paul Dominic Gray for allowing us to use their shots.

Brilliant evening full of audience participation, well done to all those involved. However the performance was slightly spoilt for us sitting at the back by the noise from the bottle washer behind the bar and a group of people talking at the bar.
