Does anyone know the year that Photo # 17 was taken, could it have been taken in the mid 1940’s? I think that I may be the little girl (Ann Tong) sitting to the left of Miss Savage.
I tried to print a copy of the photo on the computer, but to no avail, I just got a long list. It would be much appreciated if someone could give me instructions to enable me to get a copy of the photograph.
Many Thanks
Ann Batham (nee Tong)

Hi, I am Australian and descended from the Walkern Warner family, traced back as far as Thomas Warner b.1563. I really enjoyed seeing some distant relatives :)

After watching Heir Hunters on TV today I noticed that the Cecil Beadle Walkern Collection was in the credits and I thought I would have a look to see what I could find out about the Walkern where I went to school in 1946/47. I loved that school. The headmaster was Mr Merritt, who was in love with the domestic science teacher, Miss Flint (they did actually marry eventually) and there was also another lovely teacher a Miss Maddox. Unfortunately I was only there about a year and a half so did not get to know the rest of Walkern, but I do remember Wrights which was opposite the school. If any of my old classmates sees this my maiden name was Pamela Dellow. I now live in Luton.

I recognise my mother Jean Cannon and aunt Esme Cannon. Jean died in 1994 aged 72 but Esme is now 90 years of age and lives in Aston.

Can see my mum Mabel Warner, we have a photo too of her smiling at this age, thanks again for making these available to those of us living overseas. Great, keep up good work.

Hi again. Just visited the website again and recognised my class in the school photo taken about 1955! How like my 5 year old granddaughter I look. Love the website – well done.
