Vestry meeting held at the National School room pursuant to regular notice on Lady Day 25th day of March 1861. Present:
Mr Thomas Rowlatt, guardian
Mr William Pearman, overseer
Mr Samuel Wright, overseer
Mr Edward Pearman, churchwarden
Mr Porter
Mr Hill
Mr Knott
Mr H Elliott
Mr G Beecroft, collector
The Guardian was nominated, Mr Thomas Rowlatt.
George David Pearman and William Bray, John Elliott Kitchener, Henry Elliott, William Woolston, Owen Cannon, nominated eligible to serve as overseers.

This is fascinating- I am involved with the assessment of property for rating purposes. The ‘assessors job’ looked so much easier over a hundred years ago, dealing with a small parish- I have to look after most of London and I don’t suppose there were many supermarkets or department stores in those days …..
