Directories
Many trade directories were published throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, notably the ‘Kelly’s Post Office Directory’, listing all businesses and tradespeople in a particular city, town or village, as well as being general directory of local gentry, landowners, charities, and other information. In effect, it was a Victorian version of today’s Yellow Pages.
