Wedding of Daisy & Frank Canning, 4 August 1913, Graveley

From an article by Bob Bruce in the August 1975 issue of the Walkern Journal

Daisy and Frank Canning were married at St Mary?s Graveley on August 4 1913, and their wedding picture is shown here. Their 62nd Wedding Anniversary would have been this month (Frank died in September 1963).

Incidentally Frank was born at the White Lion, where his father and grandfather kept the Inn for many years. Daisy originally hailed from Edmonton, London.

Mrs Canning has ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

?The Canning Family always had connections with the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin [Walkern]?

I went to school with Maureen Canning, daughter of Sally and Frank Canning (?) in the 1950’s/1960’s. What relation would Maureen be to the couple getting married in 1913?

Hi Polly,
Maureen is my cousin. Actually she is the daughter of Sally and Ron Canning. She is the grand daughter of Daisy and Frank Canning.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Andy Canning
